Sri Lanka registered a convincing win over Scotland in their second warmup game of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 played today (30th September) at the Sevens stadium in Dubai.   

Having won the toss, Scotland opted to bat first but a disastrous batting effort saw them bowled out for just 58 runs.

The left-arm seamer Udeshika Prabodhani and left-arm spinner Sachini Nisansala bagged 2 wickets each for Sri Lanka.

In the run-chase, Sri Lanka faced early setback losing their opening pair Chamari Athapaththu and Vishmi Gunaratne inside first 2 overs.

The left-handed duo Harshitha Samarawickrama and Hasini Perera also didn’t bother the scorers as they departed after making only single digit scores.

However, the middle order batter Kavisha Dilhari stood tall anchoring the run-chase with a vital 27 runs.

Sri Lanka’s first game of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will be against Pakistan in the opening day (3rd October) of the tournament at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
