Sri Lanka registered a comfortable win over Bangladesh in their first warmup game of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 played today (28th September) at ICC Academy Grounds in Dubai.
After been put into bat first, Sri Lanka posted 143 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. The middle order batter Hasini Perera top scored for Sri Lanka with a knock of 43 runs while Nilakshi Silva and Harshitha Samarawickrama chipped in with 30 & 29 runs respectively.

Shorna Akter was Bangladesh’s standout performer with the ball as she grabbed 2 wickets for 19 runs.
Sri Lanka produced a brilliant collective bowling performance to restrict Bangladesh for 110 runs. The left-arm spinner Sugandika Kumari was brilliant with the ball as she managed to pick up a hat-trick of wickets in her 2-over spell.

The off-spinner Inoshi Priyadarshani also grabbed 2 wickets for 11 runs. Sri Lanka’s next warmup game will be held against Scotland on the 30th September.
