Oman top order had a terrible time with the bat as they struggled to cope up against the Sri Lanka’s opening bowling pair Kumara and Rajitha. Kumara was very impressive in his opening spell as he wiped out the Oman top order, picking up 3 wickets up front.
The opening batter Singh and middle order batter Ayaan Khan showed some resistance with the bat, building a 52-run stand for the fifth wicket but with the introduction of wrist-spinner Hasaranga, Oman started to collapse again.
Oman batters crumbled against Hasaranga’s spin tricks and allowed him to pick up another 5-wicket haul. Hasaranga scalped 5 wickets for 13 runs and became the second Sri Lankan cricketer to pick up back to back 5-wicket hauls in ODIs.

Only Khan stood out playing a composed knock of 41 runs for Oman, but the rest of the batters were just no match for Sri Lankan bowling attack.
It was a walk in the park victory for Sri Lanka as the opening pair Karunaratne and Nissanka put on an unbeaten 100-run stand for the first wicket to put them over the line.
Karunaratne continued his brilliant batting form notching up yet another half-century for Sri Lanka. It was Karunaratne’s 4th consecutive half-century in ODIs.
With this massive win, Sri Lanka managed to boost their net run rate and topped the Group B points table with two consecutive wins.
Sri Lanka will take on Ireland in their next game on Sunday (25th June) at the same Ground and a win will secure their place in the Super Six stage of the competition.
