Hatton National Bank (HNB) defeated Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB) to retain the Mercantile Netball League ‘A’ Division Championship at Torrington Grounds.

HNB comfortably defeated the surprise finalists CDB 63-44. The star studded HNB side took a 6-point lead at the end of the 1st quarter (14-8). They extended the lead to 11-points at half time with the scores reading 32-21.
The 3rd quarter ended at 45-32 but HNB exploded with points as they outscored CDB 18-12 in the 4th quarter to win with a 19-point lead. Expo Lanka were 2nd runners-up.

Last year, HNB took on the then reigning champions Seylan Bank in the league decider and defeated them 51-46. However, this year Seylan Bank did not participate in the tournament.
In the ‘B’ Division final Omega Line defeated Sampath Bank 20-17 in a thrilling encounter while in the ‘C’ Division Access Group defeated Fairfirst Insurance 28-15. Singer Sri Lanka and Commercial Leasing finished as 2nd runners-up in the ‘B’ and ‘C’ Divisions respectively.

Plate winners were MAS Active and in the ‘Mixed’ Division CDB turned the tables on HNB winning 22-18. LB Finance were 2nd runners-up in the ‘Mixed’ Division.
