Henry Terence, former national prop forward and current Sri Lanka under 19 forwards coach will be in charge of the St. Peter’s forwards in the upcoming A Division Schools’ Rugby League.
Henry moves to St. Peter’s after a successful 2 year stint at Isipathana College, who finished the last season as double champions, clinching both the League and Knock out titles. Previously in 2014 the veteran guided Wesley College to the knock out championship and was the Sri Lanka Under 19 forwards coach as well.
Bilal Hassan has been appointed as the forwards coach at Isipathana, filling the void left by Henry. Hassan, who prematurely retired from competitive rugby, was in charge of the Josephian forwards last season. A double international who represented Sri Lanka in Rugby and Water polo, he is also the head coach of the Royal College Water polo team. Bilal will complete a youthful coaching line up at Isipatahana which sees Lasintha Costa in charge of the backs and Rizah Mubarak as the kicking coach.
Dinesh Kumara who was the trainer at S. Thomas’ has moved to St. Joseph’s College. Kumara, a destructive back in his playing days, was also part of the national sevens outfit as a trainer and will look to play a pivotal role in the revamped Josephian coaching unit.
