Havelocks SC has joined hands with the Australian-based business entity ‘FLYHISPORTS’ to launch Sri Lanka’s first international rugby academy.
FLYHISPORTS RUGBY ACADEMY will be Sri Lanka’s first internationally collaborated rugby academy, providing opportunities for the youth to develop technical, tactical, and strategic skills in the game. This internationally evaluated programme will ensure the players develop essential skills such as teamwork, leadership and most importantly communication skills which are much needed in today’s dynamic world.
Mr. Cedric Antony, the co-founder of FLYHISPORTS RUGBY ACADEMY, stated that the program will be run by a world-class panel of international and local rugby coaches to deliver this internationally benchmarked program. He also promised to provide the best-in-class infrastructure that will be available locally for the entire program.
Mr. Kruger Roach will serve as the head of coaching at FLYHISPORTS RUGBY ACADEMY. He stated that his goal is to use his years of coaching experience to develop players from the grassroots to the national level. He also added that the standard of local coaches will be improved through his coaching program, which will provide immense benefits to the sport.
Additionally, the FLYHISPORTS RUGBY ACADEMY plans to provide scholarships to deserving youth in the country. The academy invites parents and the youth to join and make use of this academy irrespective of their school or club.
