Half tons from Janith Liyanage, Lahiru Milantha and Chathura Pieris pulled off a mammoth chase of 352 runs For Ragama in their match against NCC and CCC register a convincing 10 wicket victory against Tamil Union in the SLC Tier A Premier League super 8 matches which concluded today.

Ragama CC pulled off a miraculous win against NCC as they chased down 352 in their second innings with 1 wicket intact. Ragama resumed

play on the fourth and final day with 161 for 4. Janith Liyanage was unbeaten on 56. He and Sameera De Soyza put together a 59 run stand for the fifth wicket. Janith lost his wicket for a fighting knock of 87. Sameera carried onto make 56 but after his dismissal, Ragama lost three quick wickets. When Chathura Pieris was joined by last man Nilanka Premarathne, Ragama was 48 runs behind the target. The pair showed grit and survived 15 overs to push their team over the line. Chathura Pieris were unbeaten on 51 while Nilanka scored 11, including the winnings runs.

Early on, NCC scored 265 runs for their first innings. In reply, Ragama was cleaned up for 127 runs. NCC scored for 213 in the second innings.

CCC vs Tamil Union

CCC registered a massive 10 wicket victory against Tamil Union at Colts grounds. Tamil Union resumed play with 63 for 2 on board. They lost five wickets for just 25 runs in the first session. Manoj Sarathchandra and Ramith Rabukwella resisted for 13 overs. After the departure of Sarathchandra the resistance fell away and they were bowled out for 149 runs. Lahiru Gamage was lethal in the morning session with 3 quick wickets and he ended up with figures of 5 for 51 while centurion Lahiru Madushanka bagged 3 for 68.

CCC was given a target of just 30 runs and they got over the line in just 2.3 overs.

Early on, Tamil Union posted 377 runs for their first innings. In reply CCC made 497 with centuries from Chandraguptha and Madushanka.
