Three matches of the 26th Singer MCA Premier League Tournament were conducted today around the island. The all-round brilliance of Danushka Gunathilaka helped MAS Unichela to record a comprehensive victory against Kanrich Finance while Lahiru Thirimanne stoked a classy knock of 98 runs to guide Hayleys to victory against MAS Silueta.

Kanrich Finance vs MAS Unichela
Due to the prevailing weather conditions at P. Sara Oval Ground in Colombo, the match was reduced to a 36-over contest. After been put in to bat first, Kanrich Finance made only 136 runs all-out in 32.3 overs. Ambidextrous spinner Kamindu Mendis and off spinner Danushka Gunathilaka picked up 3 wickets each for MAS Unichela.

Chasing 137 runs to win, the MAS Unichela batsmen got off to a flying start and chased down the target in 19.3 overs with 5 wickets remaining. Left-handed stroke maker Danushka Gunathilaka who starred with the ball early in the match, stroked a quick-fire 51 runs while right handed batsman TM Sampath chipped in with a valuable 32 runs for MAS Unichela.

MAS Silueta vs Hayleys
MAS Silueta was put in to bat first by the Hayleys skipper after winning the toss at Maggona. MAS Silueta batted well and posted a solid 261 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Charana Nanayakkara (57) and Sangeeth Cooray (55) stroked half-tons for the MAS Silueta team.
Ali Khan and Praveen Jayawickrama starred with the ball for Hayleys picking up 3 wickets each. Hayleys chased down the target in the last ball of the match with 3 wickets remaining. Lahiru Thirimanne top scored with 98 runs to guide Hayleys to victory.

Dimo vs Teejay
The Dimo skipper won the toss and opted to field first at Marians Cricket Ground in Katunayake. Teejay Lanka batsmen could not bat the allotted 50 overs as they were bowled out for 168 runs in 37.4 overs. Left handed stroke maker Minod Bhanuka (54) and right handed Shalika Karunanayake (47) shined with the bat for Teejay Lanka.
In reply, Dimo batsmen also struggled with the bat as they were bundled out for 148 runs and handed a 20-run victory for Teejay Lanka. Kavishka Anjula who starred with the ball early in the match top scored with 42 runs for Dimo. Saliya Saman was the main destroyer with the ball for Teejay Lanka as he grabbed 4 scalps for 21 runs.
