Harshana Godamanna once again gave Sri Lanka an important win in the BNP Paribas Davis Cup Asia/Oceania zone group II encounter against Vietnam 3/2 played at Da Lat City in Central Vietnam on Sunday.
The final day on Sunday April 6 began with the reverse singles and Sharmal Dissanayake lost to Nguyen Hoang Thien in straight sets to make the tie 2/all. The onus fell on the shoulders of Godamanna in the final sinlge and Godamanna did it in style winning in straight sets. Only the second set went to a nervous stage before Godamanna won it on 7/5.
Godamanna managed to finish off just before the evening showers came down.
