Galle international Cricket Stadium was voted in as the winner of the “Cricket Ground World Cup” on a Twitter poll hosted by the renowned Cricket journalist Jarrod Kimber. “Cricket Ground World Cup” was an engagement activity conducted to find the most liked ground in the world that cricket would most like to visit.

Galle ICS had tough competition from the get go as it was matched with the Wankede Stadium where India won the 2011 World Cup final vs Sri Lanka, in the round of 16.
After a close contest Galle made it through the quarterfinals against picturesque Dharmasala Stadium, semifinals against MCG and Final against the Home of Cricket itself, Lord’s Cricket ground. Galle ICS managed to pull off the wins in all pairings and was finally voted in as the winner of “Cricket Ground World Cup”.
