One of the leading clubs in the Dialog Champions league Colombo Football Club played their round one match against Java Lane Sports Club at the Sugathadasa Stadium.
Colombo Football Club’s foreign striker A.C.Frank scored 4 goals out of the 5 to record an emphatic 5-0 win over the Slave Island boys.
After a week of rest both the teams had a fresh start but Java Lane produced a disappointing performance and were unable to score a single goal against their rivals. Colombo FC put up a brilliant show on field to score five goals. The foreign star Frank of Colombo FC scored the first goal for the home team within the first 10 minutes of the game. Java Lane SC’s defense could not stop opposition strikers as they were awarded a penalty and A.C. Frank converted to extend the lead to 2-0.
So many opportunities for the Slave Island lads though none of them passed the stoic Colombo FC goal keeper. In the latter part of the first half, the leading goal scorer for the game booted 2 brilliant goals which were unstoppable for the opposition goalkeeper. 4 goals to nil in favor of Colombo FC at the end of the first half.
A smooth game between both teams during the second half, none of them scored for a long duration. Zarwan Johar, Java Lane SC’s Manchester United star failed to boot a single score as his strikers were not able to help him with the finish. In the 90th minute M.D.D.Kumara scored a goal and finish the match with a 5-0 lead.
