Former Royal College Skipper Imal Liyanage has been appointed as the Vice Captain of the Qatar National Men’s Cricket Team for the upcoming Gulf Cricket Championship.
Liyanage, who captained the Royal College U19 Cricket Team in 2012, moved to Qatar to represent its national team, and has represented the Qatar National Team in 18 T20I matches so far.

The 29-year old left-handed batter has accumulated 361 runs with an average of 27.76 in those 18 games.
Gulf Cricket Championship will be played with the participation of Six nations – Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates and the hosts Qatar.

The tournament will be held from 15th to 23rd September at West End International Cricket Stadium, Doha, Qatar.
