Champions League & Volleyball Super League postponed indefinitely

The Champions League Football Tournament and the Super League of the Munchee National Volleyball Championship 2022 have been postponed indefinitely.

This was confirmed to ThePapare.com by the President of Sri Lanka Football, Jaswar Umar, and the Secretary of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation, A.S. Nalaka.

The 14-team Champions League was scheduled to start on 13th May after a lapse of three years.

“We are hoping to start it at least by end of May. Everything is in place to have a successful tournament. We hope the situation in the country would settle down soon,” President of Sri Lanka Football Jaswar Umar told ThePapare.com.

The Super League of the Munchee National Volleyball Championship commenced on 9th May but had to be postponed due to the escalating unrest in the country.

“We started the tournament but postponed it because of the current situation. We will have an executive committee meeting soon and decide on a future date depending on the situation in the country,” Secretary of the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation A.S. Nalaka added.
