First half goals from Idowu Hameed and EB Channa gave Blue Star SC a comfortable win against Civil Security Force at the Vernon Fernando Stadium.

Civil Security Force, who are in a relegation battle without a win, desperately needed points while Blue Star were in search of the 2nd win in as many matches under their new coach.

Civil Security Force (CSF) never really looked like scoring all game against a far superior and well-organised Blue Star.  They made a total of four crosses in the first half and only once firing at goal that went well wide.

Blue Stars back four with their greater height advantage clearly gave them the edge. Nigerian centre-back Nasiru Opeyemi, who stands over six feet made sure no crosses found any CSF forwards.

An early foul, on the edge of the CSF penalty box gave Blue Star a direct free kick. Idowu Hameed stepped up and forced CSF goalkeeper P.P.Prasanna a diving save but the rebound fell infront of the goal and Channa reacted the fastest for a calm tap in.

The second goal did not take long and was a result of another disastrous goalkeeping error. A cross-made from the right wing by Mohamed Farzeen was not properly cleared and this time free kick taker Hameed capitalised for another close range tap in.

The second half began with CSF trying to play tighter at the back and produced more chance. Yet Blue Star’ physical power, led the flow of the game.

Once again CSF never looked like scoring, yet this time they did have a few more chances.

Blue Star goal scorers Hameed and Channa made blistering runs on either wings towards CSF goalkeeper Prasanna and could have easily added to their tallies yet Prasanna redeemed himself with some commanding saves.

Right till he was substituted, Channa made captivating and calculating runs yet was fouled repeatedly.

Hameed as well was fouled when he challenged forward, CSF earned themselves four yellow cards defending these attacks.
