Feisty Sri Lanka will take on Nepal in the quarter final game in the 6th Asian Communities Football Tournament in Qatar. Match is scheduled to be played on 08th March 2018 at Doha Stadium in the city of Doha at 9.00 pm.
So far Team Sri Lanka’s performances in the tournament have been impressive and the last game against Jordan was splendid. Despite losing one nil in the game, the young Sri Lankans kept tournament favourites Jordanians on their toes throughout the game, but it was not the day for Sri Lanka as four solid kicks and headers touched the Jordanian goal post bar.
Meanwhile Team Nepal, having lost only to Lebanon in the group stage and placed second in the Group B, is also one of the strongest contenders in the tournament. They were the runner-up in the 2016 championship. Equally balanced Team Sri Lanka consists of comparatively young players who have played for various major “A” division clubs in the Island. It is expected to be one of the best clashes in the tournament in front of a huge fan base from both countries living in Qatar.
