The Sri Lanka Schools Under 19 Division 1 Limited Overs Cricket Tournament 2021/22 has reached its pinnacle, as the Semi-Finals of the tournament is set to commence from 05th April onwards.
The 50-over tournament saw the participation of 36 schools competing in two tiers, namely ‘Tier A’ and ‘Tier B’, with each team playing five group games.
From the Tier A segment, St. Joseph’s College, De Mazenod College, Mahanama College and Richmond College surged into the Semi-Final stage.
St. Joseph’s College topped their Group X, winning all 5 games and defeating Wesley College quite comprehensively in the Quarter-Final in their route to Semi-Finals. De Mazenod College, which placed 2nd in Group Z by winning 3 out of 5 games, played in-form strong outfit Nalanda College, defeating them by 8 wickets in the Quarter-Final.
Mahanama College also had a dominant run in the group stage, winning all the 5 games played and registering a thumping 7-wicket win over St. Benedict’s College in the Quarter-Final. Richmond College managed to register 3 wins in 4 games to take the 2nd place in Group Y and defeated St. Anthony’s College, Katugastota by 37 runs (D/L) in the Quarter-Final on their way to the Semi-Finals.

St. Peter’s College topped Group X in the Tier B segment, winning all the 5 games and recording a 5-wicket win over Mahinda College in the Quarter-Final. Isipathana College managed to top Group Y, claiming 4 wins in 5 games and defeating St. Sylvester’s College, Kandy in the Quarter-Final.
Thurstan College dominated proceedings in the Tier B segment, topping Group Z and booking their place in top eight, where they managed to overcome the challenge of Lumbini College in the Quarter-Final before securing their place in Semi-Finals.
Maris Stella College ended up as the runners-up of Group X in the Tier B segment, winning 4 in 5 games played and thrashing Moratu Vidyalaya by 107 runs in the Quarter-Final on their way to the Semi-Finals.
