The England National Cricket team will tour Sri Lanka in January to play two Test Matches at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.
The two Tests will be included in the ICC World Test Championship and both games will be played at Galle due to the convenience of maintaining a ‘Bio Secure bubble’ at one venue.

“England will arrive around 3 January and they will have about 11 days before the first Test, which will be played from 14-18 January. The second Test will take place from 23-27 January,” said SLC CEO Ashley de Silva to Daily FT.

- 1st Test – 14-18 Jan – Galle
- 2nd Test – 23-27 Jan – Galle
According to De Silva, the England squad will play two practice-matches among themselves before the Test series but won’t play any warm-ups versus Sri Lanka A or SLC President’s XI.
Sri Lanka’s cricketers who will travel to South Africa in December/January will have to undergo a seven-day quarantine period in Galle after arriving home. Englishmen will also undergo quarantine for 14 days in the UK before arriving to the island.

This would mean that Sri Lanka will have a busy two and half months of action after they were starved of cricket for more than 8 months.

England Squad toured Sri Lanka in March 2020 for the same Test series but returned home because of the COVID-19 pandemic, before the series commenced.
