Mahinda College recorded a comprehensive innings victory over Lumbini College in a Group D fixture which concluded today at Mahinda College grounds. Mahinda College resumed day two on 202 runs for 6 wickets and declared their innings at 289 runs for 9 wickets. Lumbini batsmen began their second innings 216 runs behind and were bowled out for 154 runs while handing an innings victory to the lads from Galle. Left arm fast bowler Pasan Pethangoda was the star of the match as he grabbed a match bag of 9 wickets for 75 runs.

Group B fixture between Mahanama College and President’s College ended in a draw today at Welagedara grounds. However, the crucial first innings points were won by Mahanama College. The lads from Kotte batted today for their first inning but were bowled out for just 158 runs. Left arm spinner Hashan Sandeepa picked up 6 wickets for Mahanama College. After being asked to follow on, President’s College just managed to avoid a possible outright loss by posting 145 runs for 6 wickets at stumps.
