Dunith Wellalage, Sahan Arachchige and Dilshan Madusanka are set to travel to Zimbabwe to join the Sri Lanka team for the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Tournament as standby players.

Left-arm pacer Dilshan Madusanka who recently became the most expensive pick of the Lanka Premier League 2023 auction, was the leading wicket-taker against the recently concluded series between Sri Lanka ‘A’ and South Africa ‘A’, picking up 9 wickets in the three-match unofficial ODI series at an average of 12.33.
Former Sri Lanka U19 captain and upcoming star, Dunith Wellage who also bagged 4 wickets in that series, was expected to be in the main squad, but unfortunately missed out.

The in-form all-rounder, Sahan Arachchige who was the second leading run-scorer in the limited-over series against South Africa ‘A’, amassed 135 runs in three games with an excellent average of 67.50.
These three players are expected to leave the island nation tomorrow (21st June).
