On the 1st day of the Diving Championships at Sandwell Aquatics Centre, Sri Lankan Diver Dulanjan Fernando was able to finish 11th in the Final of Men’s 1m Springboard event scoring 232.50 points.
Earlier today, Fernando qualified for the Final at 11th place in the preliminary round scoring 188.15 points. He was able to up his score by 44.35 points in the Final. Out of the six dives he performed, his highest scoring dive was 403B Inward 1 ½ Somersaults pike.

Fernando’s next event, the Men’s 3m springboard event will be on the 6th of August starting at 14:35 SL Time. On the 6th he will be competing against 15 other divers with only 12 divers going through to the final.
*In individual diving events, a male diver should perform 6 dives and a female diver should perform 5 dives. The dives can be from the front, back, reverse, inward, twist, and arm-stand dive groups and can be performed in straight, pike, and tuck positions. The dives will be judged by a panel of 7 judges.
