DIMO and Textured Jersey have made it to the finals of the MCA B Division final, which is set to take place on the 7th of November 2015, at the MCA grounds, commencing at 10.00 am.
The tournament is sponsored by Emerald Ceylon Tea for the 3rd consecutive year.
Road to the Finals
The weather Gods seemed to be on DIMO’s side as they walked into the finals courtesy of their league record, having finished at the top of group A, when both their quarterfinal and semifinal fixtures were abandoned due to inclement weather. They were set to face Commercial Bank ‘A’ in the quarter finals and Mobitel in the Semifinals.
DIMO suffered a surprise loss to Kanrich Finance ‘A’, but recorded easy wins over Mobitel, John Keells ‘B’, Singer Sri Lanka ‘A’ and Hayleys Group in the league round, enabling them to finish at the top of their group.
Textured Jersey, on the other hand, suffered a heavy defeat to LB Finance ‘A’ but came back to secure wins over MAS Linea Aqua, Commercial Bank ‘A’ and MAS Silueta, in the league round. Their game against Raigam Marketing was rained off.
They cruised into the finals with comfortable wins over Kanrich Finance ‘A’ in the quarterfinals and John Keells ‘B’ in the semifinals.
