Jaffna managed to take the upper hand against Dambulla at the end of the third day’s play in their encounter at the National Super League 4-day Tournament, which was played today (26th March) at Dambulla.

Jaffna resumed day three at 45/0 and showed a very impressive batting display, going past Dambulla’s first innings score of 283 quite comprehensively.
At the close of play on day three, Jaffna were 354/7 with 71 runs ahead of Dambulla’s score. The right-handed trio Nishan Madushka (69), Janith Liyanage (69) and Saminda Fernando (52) stroked half-tons for Jaffna.
The left-arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara, who has been in tremendous form with the ball for Dambulla, once again rose to the occasion with a 4-wicket haul.
