Kandy resumed their first innings on day two at 288/2 and went on to post a mammoth total of 444 runs in 131.2 overs. Oshada Fernando who has been in terrific touch with the bat scored his 4th century of the tournament today.
Fernando made 109 runs off 154 balls with 12 fours and a six. The skipper Kamindu Mendis also gave him good support at the other end scoring 87 runs off 167 balls with 7 fours.
The left-arm spinner Dilum Sudeera was the pick of the bowlers for Jaffna as he bagged 4 wickets for 86 runs. The off-spinner Dhananjaya De Silva (3/96) and leg spinner Jeffrey Vandersay (2/97) shared 5 wickets between them.
