The 4-day encounter between Kandy and Jaffna of the National Super League 4-day tournament ended in a draw today (06th March) at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

Kandy resumed their second innings on day three 25/0 leading by 160 runs and showed great application with the bat once more posting 322/5 in 88.4 overs.

The skipper Kamindu Mendis who failed to make an impression with the bat in the first innings, came up with a brilliant knock in the second essay, scoring 137 runs off 234 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes.

The middle-order batters Lahiru Udara and Sahan Arachchige also chipped in with good knocks contributing 65 runs each for Kandy’s total. The left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage starred with the ball for Jaffna taking 3 wickets for 66 runs.
