Colombo registered an innings win over Dambulla in the National Super League 4-day tournament today (05th March) at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.

Colombo completely outplayed Dambulla, registering an innings win over them today at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium. After being 381/5 at stumps on day two, Colombo posted a mammoth 516 runs on the board for their first innings.
Ashen Bandara, who remained unbeaten on 85 at the close of play yesterday, missed out a century as he was dismissed after scoring 91 runs off 170 balls with 10 fours. The seaming all-rounder Lahiru Madushanka also chipped in with a useful knock of 68 runs, coming off 105 balls with 4 fours and a six.
Dambulla began their second innings trailing by 239 runs, and a terrible batting display saw them being bowled out for just 107 runs, handing an innings victory for Colombo. The spinners Lakshitha Manasinghe and Prabath Jayasuriya impressed with the ball, picking up 3 wickets each.

Kandy vs Jaffna
After being 13/0 at stumps on day two, Jaffna showed good application with the bat, posting 318 runs in 92.4 overs for their first innings, but could not come close to Kandy’s massive score of 503. Sri Lanka capped middle order batter Janith Liyanage top-scored for Jaffna, notching up 85 runs off 131 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes.
Apart from Liyanage, Saminda Fernando (73), Geeth Kumara (58*) and Nishan Madushka (56) stood out with the bat scoring half-centuries.
Former Richmondite left arm spinner Avindu Theekshana was the pick of the bowlers for Kandy as he snared 5 scalps for 135 runs.
