Teams Kandy and Colombo returned victorious on the second day of the National Super League 2022.

Dambulla vs Colombo
It was yet another sloppy batting performance from the Dambulla team, who were uprooted cheaply for 143 runs.
After opting to bat first, Dambulla lost its openers very early into the innings at P. Sara Oval. The fall of wickets had no gates from that point onwards as only two batters got past the 20-run mark.
The 41 runs made by Lasith Abeyrathne we’re the highest, while left-arm spinner, Prabath Jayasuriya, picked up 3 wickets for the Colombo team.
Colombo gave a thumping reply to this in the second innings as they wrapped the game up by just the 21st over with 7 wickets intact.
Kusal Mendis scored a whirlwind 67 runs in just 44 deliveries to set the chase on fire.
The skipper, Charith Asalanka also chipped in with a vital 52-run contribution as Colombo walked past the target with ease.

Jaffna vs Kandy
Jaffna and Kandy met at SSC where Kandy defeated the Jaffna team by 6 wickets. The senior batter of Jaffna, Lahiru Thirimanne topped the batting card with 56 runs while a couple of other valuable contributions by Santhush Gunathilake (45) and Janith Liyanage (41) made sure that their team went up to a formidable total.
Kandy seamer Nipun Ransika was the pick of the bowling in the innings as the 22-year-old speedster grabbed 3 wickets for 41 runs.

A combined effort with the bat from Kandy was too good for the Jaffna boys to resist. Leading the batting from the front, opener Niroshan Dickwella raced himself to a fine half-century in no time. He scored 69 runs off 45 deliveries.
A half-century from the skipper, Charith Asalanka, and a few useful runs from the top-order meant that Kandy chased their target down comfortably.
In bowling, Shiran Fernando’s 2 wickets for 33 runs was the only noteworthy performance for Jaffna.
