The launch of the ‘Dialog Cricket World Cup Song Challenge with M Entertainments’, a star-studded event with the participation of the Sri Lanka cricket team and other distinguished members of the music industry was held at Qbaa on Thursday evening.
The most celebrated sport of the country; cricket is closely affiliated with music due to the contagious enthusiasm of the fans celebrating the spirit of the game uniting as one nation. Thus music and cricket have become a unifying factor to the Sri Lankans.
With only five months away from the most anticipated cricketing event; ICC World Cup 2015 in Australia/New Zealand, Maharaja Entertainments, a subsidiary of the Capital Maharaja Organization together with the main sponsor of the Sri Lanka cricket, Dialog Axiata leads the way in wishing our team all the success in a unique campaign.
The pioneering event will lead the campaign as they invite amateurs and professionals alike to join with their own composed songs to be submit for the challenge wishing the Sri Lanka cricket team for the forthcoming mega world cup. The competition will conclude on the 15th of October and from all the submissions, the best will be featured in the world cup song album scheduled to be released at the end of this year.
Fun-filled evening was entertained by undisputed kings of the Lankan music, Gypsies and the official sponsorship was also presented to Mr. Susira Dinal – Head of Sirasa TV by Mr. Harsha Samaranayake – Head of Brand and Media, Dialog Axiata PLC.
National cricketers such as Angelo Mathews, Kumar Sangakkara, Lasith Malinga, Rangana Herath, Lahiru Thirimanne, Ashan Priyanjan, Chanaka Welagedara and Dammika Prasad were among the present at this colourful occasion.
