The Dialog sponsored Sri Lanka Cricket annual awards ceremony will be held in all pomp and pageantry at the Water’s Edge today.
Dialog who recently took over sponsorship of Sri Lanka cricket has pledged to make this an annual event.
A most interesting addition to the awards will be the Dialog People’s Player award which will be selected by the public through a sms and online voting system which ran over 3 weeks. In addition over 150 awards are scheduled to be presented to national and domestic cricketers highlighting and celebrating their achievements.
Some of the prestigious awards will be Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best All-rounder and Emerging Player of Year. The women cricketers of Sri Lanka who have brought a sense of pride to the nation of late will also receive awards and will be included in the proceedings.
The National Selectors headed by Sanath Jayasuriya, would be the panel judging the international segment and the Cricket Committees will elect the domestic cricketers etc.
