Speaking to ThePapare.com Sri Lanka Rugby President, Lasitha Gunaratne officially informed that the Dialog Clifford cup will no be played this year, bringing the Dialog Club Rugby 2019/20 season to a close.
Although it was initially planned to conduct the Dialog Clifford Cup for this year starting early April at an Emergency Council meeting two weeks back, SLR has now decided to call off the tournament for this year due to the prevailing conditions in the Island.

However, SLR earlier intended to proceed with the tournament, only if the Corona Virus epidemic is cleared and permission is granted from the government of Sri Lanka. Therefore, it only seems practical that the tournament is canceled considering the present situation, allowing players to officially commence their off-season rituals.
