Dharmapala College registered their first ever victory in the Battle of Golden Lions Big Match as they beat Rahula College, Matara by nine wickets with few overs to spare at the De Soysa Stadium in Moratuwa on Sunday.
Sachindu Vinod who top-scored with 89 runs for Dharmapala took three wickets to restrict Rahula to 152 runs in the second essay. That left Dharmapala with a target of 47 runs to chase and skipper Prashan Ratnayake and Himasha Liyanage scored unbeaten 20s to record a nine-wicket win.
