The ICC has extended the deadline for the SLC to conduct elections to the 9th of February 2019 after the delegates from ICC and SLC met in Dubai yesterday.
SLC election should happen before December 31st – outgoing SLC ExCo

A Sri Lankan delegation led by the Sports Minister Faiszer Musthapaha, consisting of Competent Authority of SLC, Kamal Padmasiri, CEO of SLC, Ashley de Silva and Deputy Solicitor General Sumathi Dharmawardhana met with the Chairman of ICC, Shashank Manohar and CEO of ICC, David Richardson to discuss the fate of the SLC Elections in Dubai.
After the meeting, several mutual agreements were made by both parties to be practiced by the SLC in the near future. The agreement to amend regulations to appoint an election committee, which will be responsible for the entire election process, stands out to be the most vital decision of the meeting.
The election committee is to be appointed by the general body of the SLC consisting of two retired judicial officials of the High Court and above, and a retired senior member of the Elections Department/Commission of Sri Lanka or any retired public official with experience in conducting elections.
SLC’s voting rights still remain suspended as it is still run by a Government-appointed body.
