The Youth Asia Cup 2017

The Youth Asia Cup 2017 will be played from 8th to 20th November in Kuala Lampur, Malayasia.

The tournament was originally scheduled to be staged in India but due to objections from the Pakistan Cricket Board, the Asian Cricket Council decided to move the tournament to Malaysia at the ACC annual general meeting in Colombo over the weekend.

The tournament will feature eight teams – India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Malaysia and two teams each from the Western and Southern Regions.

Afghanistan will not need to play the qualifying tournaments since they attained Test status recently while Malaysia gets a starting berth as the host nation.

The last edition was held in Sri Lanka last year where India triumphed under lights in the final against the hosts at Khettarama.

The players eligible to play the next ICC Youth World Cup 2018 in New Zealand will be permitted to play this tournament.
