The two-legged 75th Bradby Shield encounter will take place on the 1st and 15th of June 2019 with the two schools Royal College and Trinity College set to host the fixtures at their respective home grounds amidst heavy security.
The Bradby Shield encounter is the country’s blue-ribbon schools’ Rugby encounter played in two legs between Royal College and Trinity College.

This year marks a special occasion with the encounter arriving at its 75th edition since its inception in 1945. Initially the proposed dates for the 75th were the 11th and 25th May but the organizers were forced to make changes following the Easter Sunday attacks and the prevailing security situation in the country.
However, with the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) getting the green light from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Defense, the revised dates for the 75th encounter will be the 1st of June and 15th of June.

The 1st June fixture will be played in Pallekelle hosted by Trinity. The return leg on the 15th will take place at the Royal College Sports Complex.

Clearance has been granted to play the two games away from Sugathadasa Stadium and Bogambara where the rest of the Schools Rugby League games are set to take place.
Strict security measures will be in place for the two encounters with each game set to attract at least 5000+ in attendance.
