Cricket Scotland will name their final 15-man World Cup squad on Wednesday.

Grant Bradburn’s team arrived in Dubai on Monday as preparations intensify ahead of February’s showpiece in Australia and New Zealand.

Bradburn, assistant coach Craig Wright and specialist coach Paul Collingwood must trim down the initial 24-man squad named in December.

Scotland play their first one-day warm-up match against Afghanistan on Thursday.

The side, captained by Preston Mommsen, then face Ireland on 12 January and again a week later.

Between those contests is a second meeting with the Afghans on 14 January, before the Scots travel to Sydney.

At the World Cup itself, Scotland are in Pool A, along with New Zealand, England, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Australia.
