Chilaw Marians dismantled Colts by an innings and 9 runs inside two days while SSC, CCC and Ragama took firm control in their second week matches of the SLC Premier League Tournament – Tier A Super Eight stage whereas all three Plate Tournament matches ended as drawn encounters today.

Colts vs Chilaw Marians
The power house in Sri Lanka domestic circuit, Colts Cricket Club were dismantled for just 39 runs inside 14 overs as Chilaw Marians CC completed a comprehensive victory in their low-scoring Super Eight match which concluded with a day to spare at CCC grounds today.
After posting a below-par 196 in their first innings, Chilaw Marians managed to clinch a victory with two days to spare. The lads from Havelock Town captained by Dilruwan Perera had no answers to Isuru Udana, Maduka Liyanapathiranage and Malinda Pushpakumara as the title favourites, Chilaw Marians made short work of their opponents on a hot Sunday afternoon.

Former Peterite batting duo, Janith Liyanage and Lahiru Milantha cracked two unbeaten centuries as Ragama CC made 212 for 1 in reply to Tamil Union’s first innings score of 318 at stumps on day two at R. Premadasa International Stadium.
Liyanage saw the ball reaching the boundary fence 9 times and cranked up 2 sixes while Milantha made 7 fours and a six as the Tamil Union bowlers toiled hard for wickets.

Sri Lanka discard, Dasun Shanaka’s all-round brilliance helped SSC take honours on day two against SL Army SC at Colts grounds.
Shanaka hit a run-a-ball knock of 92 with 10 fours and 4 maximums to help SSC reach 323 in reply to Soldier’s first innings score of 228. Shanaka took 3 important wickets later in the day to restrict Army to 14 for 5 before Captain Seekkuge Prasanna counter-attacked to reach 51 for 5 at stumps.
