Sri Lanka Cricket announced today (01st January) that Chris Clarke-Irons has been appointed as the Lead Physiotherapist of the National Team, with effect from January 1, 2023.
Clarke-Irons holds a BSc (Hons) Degree in Physiotherapy which was obtained from the University of East London and an MSc in Advanced Physiotherapy from Kings College, London.
He had previously worked as the Head of Science and Medicine and also the Lead Physiotherapist of the Essex County Cricket Club in England. He had also held stints with England Men’s team and worked as the physiotherapist for the ECB’s Senior Men’s Pace Program.

His first tour with the national team will be Sri Lanka’s tour of India which will commence on the 3rd January. Clarke-Irons has signed on a two-year contract with Sri Lanka Cricket.
Sri Lanka’s tour of India will consist of 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is which will be played at 6 different venues in India. The T20I series will be played from 03rd to 07th January while the ODI leg of the tour will be played from 10th to 15th January.
