එංගලන්තයේ Charlton Athletic පාපන්දු සමාජයේ සුපිරි පාපන්දු රසිකයෙකු වූ Seb Lewis පසුගිය දා ‘Coronavirus’ වසංගතය වැළඳී ජීවිතක්ෂයට පත්වී ඇත.
මේ වන විට එංගලන්තයේ English Football League Championship ලීග් තරගාවලියේ ක්‍රීඩා කරනු ලබන ගිණිකොණදිග ලන්ඩන් ප්‍රදේශය කේන්ද්‍ර කරගත් ක්‍රීඩා සමාජයක් වන Charlton Athletic කණ්ඩායමේ ප්‍රමුඛතම රසිකයා ලෙස සැලකෙන 38 හැවිරිදි Seb Lewis නමැති පුද්ගලයා පසුගිය දා ‘coronavirus’ තත්වයට ගොදුරු වී ජීවිතක්ෂයට පත්ව ඇත.
ඔහු 1998 වසරේ සිට පසුගිය මාර්තු මාසයේ මුල භාගයේ දී ‘coronavirus’ වසංගතය හේතුවෙන් සියලුම තරගාවලි කල් දමන තෙක් වසර 22කට වැඩි කාලයක් පුරාවට Charlton Athletic ක්‍රීඩා කරනු ලැබූ සෑම තරගයකටම නොකඩවා සහභාගී වී ඇත.
එහි දී එම කාලය තුළ Charlton සිය ක්‍රීඩාංගණයේ දී ම මෙන්ම ඉන් පිටත ද ක්‍රීඩා කරනු ලැබූ එකඳු තරගයක් හෝ පාඩුකර නොගනිමින් සියලුම තරග නැරඹීම සඳහා ඔහු සහභාගී වී ඇති අතර ඒ අනුව ඔහු තරග 1,076ක වාර්තාගත සංඛ්‍යාවක් සඳහා අඛණ්ඩව සහභාගී වී ඇත.
කෙසේ නමුත් ඔහු ‘coronavirus’ තත්වයට ගොදුරු වෙමින් පසුගිය දා ජීවිතක්ෂයට පත්වූ බව Charlton විසින් ඔවුන්ගේ නිල Instagram සහ Twitter ගිණුම් හරහා දැනුම් දෙනු ලැබීය. එම පණිවිඩයේ ඔවුන් දක්වා තිබුණේ;

1998 වසරේ පෙබරවාරි මාසයේ ඉඳලා මේ දක්වා අපි ක්‍රීඩා කළ සෑම ‘home’ සහ ‘away’ තරගයක්ම නොකඩවා නැරඹීමට ඇවිත් ඔහු තිබූ වාර්තාව ගැන අපිට තියෙන්නේ ලොකු ගෞරවයක්. ඔහු නොකඩවා නරඹපු තරගවල වාර්තාව 1,076ක්. බොහොම ස්තූතියි Seb ඔබ Charlton වෙනුවෙන් කරපු කැපවීම සහ දක්වපු ළැදියාව වෙනුවෙන්. ‘The Valley’ සහ අපි ක්‍රීඩා කරන ‘away’ තරග සියල්ලට මත් මීට පස්සේ ඔබේ අඩුව අනිවාර්යයෙන් දැනෙයි.”
We are truly devastated to hear of the passing of one of Charlton’s most dedicated, loyal and popular supporters, Seb Lewis, at the age of just 38. Seb was the heart and soul of the Charlton family and was so proud of his achievement of attending every single game, home and away since February 1998. His record stands at 1,076 consecutive fixtures. The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Seb’s family at this very difficult time. Thank you Seb for your loyalty and dedication to Charlton.
