Sri Lanka’s lead speedster Dushamantha Chameera has been ruled out from ICC World Cup Qualifier 2023 due to an injury.

Chameera who suffered a right pectoral muscle injury on his right shoulder during a practice session ahead of Sri Lanka’s first game in the Group Stage of the tournament, is yet to fully recover from the injury, therefore will fly back home.
Accordingly, Chameera will not be available for selections for Sri Lanka’s upcoming Super Six round games. The 22-year-old speedster Dilshan Madushanka is set to replace him in the squad.

After returning home, Chameera will be involved in a rehabilitation program at the High-Performance Center at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
