The CCC School of Cricket clinched the 2017 Nelson Mendis Challenge Trophy when they managed a 56-run win over NCC School of Cricket, Colombo in the finals which worked off at the CCC grounds.
13th International U14 Cricket tournament 2017
The 13th International under 14 invitational cricket tournament..
This tournament was played for the 13th occasion and 31 teams participated, including 5 Indian teams in the Under 14 age category.
CCC Maroons won the toss and opted to bat first but they were dismissed for a modest 180 inside 43 overs. Ishan Sharma stroked valuable half-ton to give CCC a reasonable total. Pradyan Shaikya was the chief destroyer for NCC as he grabbed four crucial wickets.

Chasing 181, NCC Reds lost wickets at regular intervals as they folded for 124 in 34.2 overs to give the home team an outstanding 54 run win over their neighbors. Ravin Perera anchored the innings with handy contribution but it was not enough to reach the target. Amitha Dabare was crafty with ball in hand taking four timely scalps to defend the target.
