Carlton Cup 2014: Otters BC walk away with another defeat.

The twenty-fourth match of the Carlton Cup Basketball Championship 2014 was played yesterday between Otters BC and Colombo BC.

Colombo BC exerted a handsome win over the opposition when they etched the winning line by thirty three points when the scoreboard read in favour of Colombo lads at full time 65-32.

Losing all the games played so far Otters BC was in desperate need of a victory. On the other hand Colombo BC stepping into the floor of with confidence over the tight game, were all set to conquer the court and etch the winning line.

The match commenced with eight-zero run in favour of Colombo BC during the first five minutes of the game. Otters BC defence was not in solid structure as the Colombo lads scored in all of the set pieces of the game during the first quarter. Though Otters BC had Isuru Peiris for rebounding he was equally matched with Gayan Croos who etched almost all the rebounds during in the first quarter. Otters BC failing adapt in to the game situation scored only eight points in reply to twenty eight points from Colombo BC in the first quarter.

Colombo BC led the game 33-12 at lemons and Otters BC showed no signs working towards their desperate win. All the players of Colombo BC playing good minutes of basketball went on scoring their points in both fast breaks and set pieces.  Otters BC just added twenty one points to their total during the final twenty minutes of play. Devon Rebert did not play the match for Otters BC and it was indeed a huge blow for the outfit on the offensive aspect.

Colombo BC adding on another thirty points to their total during the final twenty minutes which indeed took the game away from Otters BC.
