Cargills, the Principle Partner of Sri Lanka Football, enriched with Cargills Food City continues their sponsorship of FA Cup tournament for the third consecutive year.

Champions of the 2014 Cargills FA Cup, Colombo FC, are in good form and will be working hard to snatch the handsome cash prize of Rs. 700,000 once again. All other teams will have to work hard to knock the reigning champs to claim victory at this year’s FA Cup.
This year’s FA Cup will consist of 509 teams hailing from 59 different leagues from around the pearl. The tournament will be conducted on a knockout basis with all teams playing in four groups (A, B, C and D) Each group consists of 02 segments and will be played from first to sixth round. Winners of the 02 segments from each group at the sixth rounds, eight selected clubs and the top seeded 24 clubs will advance to the final stage; round of 32. This will have an open draw.
The 32 clubs advancing will include the 14 top seeding clubs from group A, 2 top seeders from group B, 3 top seeders from group C, 5 toppers from group D and winners of the 02 segments in each group at the sixth stage.
“We will only be looking to fund the leagues who participate in the Cargills FA Cup from here on out, with the hope of getting more and more football leagues to participate in this prestigious tournament in the future” said Mr. Ranjith Rodrigo – Head of Media of the FFSL.
