Java Lane managed to bounce back and draw the match with a score of 1-1. Skipper Tuan Fahim placed the ball right in to the nets few seconds before the final whistle.
Kalutara Park led the game in the first half though they couldn’t keep up the momentum till the last moment. A few changes have been made in the Kalutara park Team this season. Skipper and goalkeeper Sujan Perera showed his skills as usual, yet failed to save the last ball in the game. Mid fielder Wasantha De Silva of Kalutara Park scored the opening goal of the game in the 24th minute by collecting the ball from a corner kick and booting the ball directly to the nets even though Java Lane had more ball possession than then Kalutara team.
Though Kalutara Park dominated in the first half, Java Lane had the control the game, especially when Rizkhan Faizer known as ‘Cheetah’ among the football fans for his speed and Ali played in the midfield position. Rizkhan along with striker Zarwan scared the opponents during the beginning of the game and many shots taken by them came dangerously close though they didn’t reach the nets. Former Sri Lankan National goalkeeper Dhammika Senarath is back in action playing for Java Lane. Skipper Fahim scored the goal to draw the match in the last moment with the help of striker Zarwan Johar, Rizkhan Faizer and Madhawa Ruwansiri.
After scoring the first goal Kalutara Park had built up their confidence. Defenders G. Sumith and A.Nisantha moved the team a bit forward to pressurize the opponents. Holding the game till the first half was a huge fight for the boys from Kalutara.
No Changes were made in the second half. It became a one sided game when Java Lane attackers started to dribble the ball and run through the defenders. A couple of off sides were caught by the linesmen but the rest of the chances were not successful to equalize the game. Muneer Sally played as a striker along with Zarwan. Sally could not finish off the through passes given by the Rizkhan Faizer and attacker Imran of Kalutara Park S.C made few cross passes to the strikers just before Java Lane scored the goal. Imran was successful with his cross but the strikers were not successful with the goals.
The last corner kick of the game was taken by midfielder Madhawa Ruwansiri which was kicked directly to the penalty box area. Defender Sumith tried to clear the ball but it became a rebound and Tuan Fahim collected the ball from that point. A shot taken from the right side of the pitch directly to the goal made the match a draw. Sujan Perera couldn’t make it up to save the goal which resulted in disappointment for the Kaluatara boys after leading for 90+3 minutes till Fahim made that shot.
