The ABA of Sri Lanka is once again organizing the Dian Gomes Challenge trophy for the 7th consecutive year at the Royal College sports complex, from the 2nd- 5th November, with the participation of young school boys & girls.
This championship has been identified as the breeding ground for young talented boxers in Schools. Male and female boxers, who were born in year 2000 and 1999 and between the age group of 13 – 14 years, are eligible to compete at this championship. Freshers are also ermitted to enter the tournament as per the new rules and regulations.
The preliminary weigh-in preceded by the medical examination for the boys and girls boxers will be held on the 2nd November 2013 at 8.00 to 10.00 am at the Sugathadasa Sports Hotel and weigh-in and medical examination on 3rd to 4th November 2013 will be held from 8.00 to 9.00 am at the same venue.
All winners, runners up and semifinalist will receive medals and certificates. The Boys and Girls best boxers and best losers of the meets will receive special awards. The School Boys and Girls Champion teams will receive Dian Gomes Challenge Trophies.
