Business Management Schools emerged victorious in 2016 installment of the Elite Football League of India Flag Football championship clinching the cup championship held at the Racecourse stadium yesterday (5th).
The first Flag Football tournament for the year was organized for the third successive occasion and had the participation of 20 teams who were competing for silverware. The second day saw the knock out stages commencing as two teams from BMS and Jaffna ended up in the semifinal draw.
The two BMS teams were able to defeat the Jaffna teams and progressed on to the finals. In the final encounter it was BMS ‘B’ that emerged champions over BMS ‘C’ winning the game 12-6.

The Plate Championship saw the two Jaffna sides competing against each other and Jaffna ‘A’ took home the title defeating the ‘B’ side 14-7. The Bowl and Shield titles went out to the universities of NIBM and Old Bens Sports Club respectively.
The Flag Football championship was primarily geared towards compiling a squad for the Colombo and Kandy squads and present at the occasion was tournament director Dilroy Fernando and Commercial and Marketing manager for SAGT Dhashma Karunaratne.
