Speedster Vishenka Silva has been entrusted with the title defense responsibility by St. Peter’s College. Last season, he was the top try scorer in the Peterite mission to secure the double crown championship.
The new Peterite skipper is not only renowned for his sprinting skills but also for his exceptional game awareness and decision-making. As the team’s wing three-quarter, he has an impressive record of delivering the finishing touches in crucial moments.
Furthermore, Vishenka Silva is a promising player on the national stage. He captained the national U-18 team in the Asia Rugby Division I Rugby 7s Tournament held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, in September 2025. St. Peter’s First XV is hopeful that his international exposure will bring resilience to the team and help them execute their game plans effectively.
Additionally, Emith Jayaweera, playing as a center, has been appointed as Co-Vice Captain. He is a dynamic player known for his raw pace and power. The other Co-Vice Captaincy of the Peterite First XV has been assigned to Shenuka Perera, a tall and strong lock-forward who is also capable of playing as a No. 8.
