Sri Lanka’s terrific all round performance in the second Test match sealed a 1-0 series win against Bangladesh. With the ODI Tri Series and the two Tests completed, the tourists will take on Bangladesh in a 2-match T20 series beginning this week. The two sides first met during the T20 World Cup in 2007. In the first meeting at Johannesburg, Sri Lanka secured a 64 run victory. Batting first, Sri Lanka made 147/5 in their 20 overs with skipper Mahela Jayawardene top scoring with a run-a-ball 30. In reply, Bangladesh were bowled out for a paltry 83. Dilhara Fernando, Chaminda Vaas and Sanath Jayasuriya took 2 wickets each.
Bangladesh’s first win over Sri Lanka came in 2016 at Dhaka. The hosts won by 23 runs.
