Sri Lanka U19 registered a convincing win over Bangladesh U19 in the first match of the six-match Youth ODI series played today (26th April) at CCC Grounds, Colombo.
Having won the toss, the hosts opted to bat first and posted 241 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Chamika Heenatigala (78*), Kavija Gamage (60*) and Senuja Wekunagoda (50) were the chief contributors with the bat for Sri Lanka U19.
Rizan Hossain and Iqbal Hossain grabbed 2 wickets each for the visitors.
In their turn with the ball, Sri Lanka produced a brilliant bowling performance to restrict Bangladesh to just 143 runs.
The wrist-spinner Vigneshwaran Akash decimated the Bangladesh batting line up, picking up 5 wickets for 35 runs.
