Sri Lanka Cricket announced today that the Bangladesh Cricket team’s tour to Sri Lanka which was supposed to be a 3-match Test series in July will not go ahead as planned.
Bangladesh Cricket Board has informed SLC that a conducive environment has still not arrived for their players to take part in an international cricket series, purely due to the lack of preparation due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hence, BCB and SLC have agreed that the Bangladesh National Team’s tour of Sri Lanka which was scheduled to be held during July 2020 will not take place and will be deferred to a mutually planned later date.

The test series was a crucial series as it is part of the ICC Test Championship. This series is Sri Lanka’s 2nd Test series to be postponed in the ICC Test Championship.
Overall, this is the 4th Sri Lanka Cricket series to be postponed in 2020.
