Another rain-shortened day in the 2nd unofficial Test between the Sri Lanka Emerging team (SL-E) and the Bangladesh Emerging team (Ban-E) at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium, Cox’s Bazar, saw SL-E ending the day’s play on top, after taking 3 quick wickets.
The Bangladesh Emerging team (Ban-E) skipper Nazmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and decided to bat first and Sri Lanka Emerging team (SL-E), led by Charith Asalanka, made 4 changes to the playing XI which played the first unofficial Test that concluded with no result.

Opener Sangeeth Cooray, who didn’t have a good outing in the previous match, was replaced by the wicketkeeper batsman Lahiru Udara and Asitha Fernando and Nishan Peiris were the only bowlers to hold their places as Chamika Karunaratne, Ramesh Mendis and Kalana Perera were replaced by Jehan Daniel, Amila Aponsu and Mohamed Shiraz.

After play being called off on day 01, there was another rain relay in the morning of day 02 but finally the covers were off, and play was possible in the afternoon.
Right arm seamer from Kandy, Mohamed Shiraz tasted success in his very first over to dismiss the last unofficial ODI centurion Saif Hassan for 4 runs. Then the fast bowling all-rounder Jehan Daniel stuck twice in the 12th over to send Aminul Islam and Yasir Ali back to the pavilion, reducing Ban-E to 3-21.
Then the saviors for Ban-E from the first unofficial Test, skipper Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Afif Hossain continued their good outing against SL-E bowlers with a solid 36 run partnership to take them to 57-3 before the skies opened up again.
Only 23 overs were possible today as umpires called off the rest of the day’s play around 3.30 SL time.
