The newly appointed National Selection Committee has selected a 17-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against Zimbabwe.
Kusal Mendis will lead the side, while middle order batter Charith Asalanka will be his deputy. Most of the players who were part of Sri Lanka ODI World Cup squad have retained their places, but the experienced campaigners Angelo Mathews, Dimuth Karunaratne, Kusal Perera and Dhananjaya de Silva have faced the axe.

The opening batter Avishka Fernando, wrist spinner Wanindu Hasaranga, who missed the World Cup due to injury, and spinners Akila Dananjaya and Jeffrey Vandersay who were overlooked in the white-ball format in recent months, have made the cut.

The 3-match ODI series will be played from 6th January to 11th January at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium. All the matches will be played as Day/Night encounters.
